Loads of people believe in things like time travel and UFOs because we`ve watched so much science fiction on TV, a survey`s shown.
Programmes like Doctor Who and Star Trek have become so much a part of our everyday lives that we`ve started to think aliens exist, researchers say.
A staggering six out of 10 Brits think people have a `sixth sense` and can predict the future.
A third believe in time travel and a quarter believe in aliens and UFOs.
Time travel, as shown in Doctor Who`s Tardis, was one of the most popular beliefs. Even out of those people who don`t believe in it now, many think time travel will be possible in the future.
And a quarter think Black Holes could be the gateway into other universes.
Secrets?
Aliens were popular too. As well as a quarter of people thinking aliens exist, a surprising four out of 10 people said they thought there was some truth in alien abduction stories.
More than a third of those asked believed that governments kept secrets from the public about the existence of extra-terrestrials and UFOs.
One of the researchers said: "`Our results prove that shows such as Doctor Who - one of Britain`s earliest science fiction series - are all partly responsible for the beliefs that people have today."
