The Jim Henson-created puppet group - made up of characters Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear among many others - turned up to the special ceremony, which saw them take the 2,466th star on the sidewalk in front of the El Capitan Theatre.
Kermit, who was also joined by Fozzie, Gonzo, Animal, Pepe the King Prawn and new addition Walter, said he was delighted to receive the accolade.
He told the crowd: "We are just really happy to be on Hollywood Boulevard today, joining some of the greatest names in showbiz."
Miss Piggy, who is well known for trying to steal the limelight from Kermit, added she wanted to do a musical performance to celebrate.
She said: "Is it time now for moi to do my medley of every song ever written from every great movie musical ever made?"
Kermit responded: "We`ll see if we can get to that later in the show."
The Muppets are not the first fictional characters to receive a star on Hollywood Boulevard - Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, `Sesame Street`s Big Bird, Shrek and Snow White have all previously been awarded the accolade.
