Vladivostok, November,17 - Motor vehicles dealers conducted a strike. More than 100 cars with tied red ribbons and turned on headlights went along the streets in the center of the city.
Participants of strike demanded to review the new mini-catalogue, which was created by Far-East officials. The new catalogue contains information of price for foreign cars, according to which dealers will have to pay customs duty.
As a reminder, in early October the customs department introduced a mini-catalogue worked out by it for determining the value of foreign cars imported from Japan, which at once increased customs payments by 500-3,000 US dollars for each vehicle. This caused mass protest actions of representatives of the motor business in Vladivostok that continued for about a week. As a result the mini-catalogue application was suspended.
However, starting from November 3 the Far Eastern Customs Department began to work out on a new document jointly with motor dealers and non-governmental organisations. The customs department?s press service said on Thursday the sides failed to come to terms and motor dealers "preferred public protest actions to a constructive dialogue."
