Japan, November 21, 2005 - Russian President was greeted with the demonstrations of protest with demand to return four Kuril Islands to Japan.
Vladimir Putin arrived in Japan with an official visit. However he was greeted by protestants: several buses, equipped with loud-speakers parked near the hotel "The New Otani", where the Russian leader has been accommodated. Fortunately militiamen were able to hold insurgents away from the territory of the hotel.
Japanese demonstrators waved national flags and cried out slogans: "Return us Northern territories" (that?s the name which Japanese use for four islands of Kuril Archipelago) and "Get out of here!"
Some of the protestants who tried to break through the police cordon were detained. Finally police dispersed demonstrators.
