Vladimir Putin agreed with suggestion to increase part of extracted in Russia gold at gold and exchange currency reserves during his visit to Magadan.
On November 1, 2005, 3.7 milliards of dollars from 165 milliards accounts to gold at gold and exchange currency reserves of Central Bank. Putin paid attention on favorable state of the golden world market. He also noted importance of prospecting branch in further development of the country.
President of largest gold-mining company "Polus" Evgeny Ivanov complained that tax on mining operations is 6% for Russian gold-miner while it is only 3% for the rest of the world. Suggestion of tax on gold differentiation was supported by the head of Ministry of Nature Yurii Trutnev and by minister of Finance Alexey Kudrin.
Legalization of gold mining by natural persons aroused large discussion. Alexey Kudrin noted that in this case it will be impossible to determine whether gold is stolen or honestly mined.
