This Monday and Wednesday to cities, situated down the stream from Habarovsk, 50 tons of activated charcoal will be delivered, announced the deputy of Russian Nature Inspection head Oleg Mitvol.
Charcoal will be used for refinement of Amur from phenol, which got into Sungari river as a result of explosion at chemical plant in Chinese town Czinlin.
"On Monday we expect 2 ships from Perm, which will supply 20 tons of activated charcoal", - said Mitvol who is in Habarovsk at present moment. Other 30 tons will be delivered on Wednesday.
Mitvol considers that there is a possibility to reduce concentration of phenol in Amur due to drawing part of polluted water aside through Penza channel, where dam is constructed at present moment.
"It was decided not to construct dam, a process of its reconstruction has started, as a result of which main part of polluted water will pass town by", - said Mitvol. This measure is more effective that refinement of Amur water with activated charcoal.
Storages of drinking water and water for technical use in Habarovsk was increased by 20%.Businessmen obliged not to raise prices on bottled water more than by 10%.
"There is no panic in the town, people have storages of water. We will not repeat situation in Harbin", - said Mitvol.
