Yekaterinburg Office of Public Prosecutor instituted criminal proceedings against 29-year old Andrey Novgorodov, who captured several workers of "4-the Channel" in building of TV center on Friday night.
This was announced by assistant of prosecutor of Sverdlovskaya oblast Victor Yakson. Proceedings were instituted according to article 206 part 2 of Russian Criminal Code - capture of hostages using force.
"By our data, there were 5 hostages. They were not injured. 2 shells and 3 bullets were found at place of accident. During arrest carbine SKS of 7.62 mm in caliber was withdrawn.
According to tentative version of investigation, the cause of hostage`s capture became quarrel in the family. Novgorodov tried to sort out relationships with wife - the worker of "4-th channel" company. The day before incident there was a quarrel between husband and wife. On moment of capture wife of Novgorodov was not on working place and he demanded meeting with her. But woman didn`t come to place of accident.
BY words of TV journalist, who was among hostages, man bahved politely and didn`t want to kill anybody - he just wanted to talk with wife.
At 21:50 as a result of negotiations Novgorodov released hostages. At 1:00 during following negotiations he has surrendered. By evidence of witnesses, man was drunk.
"This crime is not connected with any terrorist or extremist goals. Person, who captured hostages, didn`t set up any economic or political claims", - said Victor Yakson.
At present moment aggressor is in isolator of Yekaterinburg Ministry of Interior Affiars administration.
