Search of 5 passengers and 3 crew members of helicopter Mi-8, which crash landed in mountains on Saturday, were resumed in Yakutat at daybreak. This was informed in head administration of Russian Emergency Ministry over Saha republic.
At present moment group of rescuers is about 1 km from helicopter but unfavorable weather conditions prevent further movement - it is snowing in the region of the search.
On Tuesday rescuers intend to climb the top of mountain and start search in 3 directions.
On Monday rescuers couldn`t fly to the place of the crash because of snowstorm and low nebulosity. The crew had to return to aerodrome base.
Lorries "Ural" couldn`t reach the place of crash either. Cars are able to pass 5-7 km/hour.
Contact with people from crashed helicopter was lost because batteries in their portable radio transmitter ran dead. Earlier survivors informed that they have warm clothes and food.
By data of weather forecasters, it gets warmer in the region of rescue operation: air temperature is 22-27 degrees below zero. But snowstorm continues and wind blows reach 12 m/s.
Crash of helicopter Mi-8, owned by "Polar Airlines", took place on Saturday, on December 24. Helicopter, flying by route Batagai-Tumat-Batatgai, didn`t arrive to Batagai aerodrome.
