Passengers and crew members of Mi-8 helicopter, which crash landed on Saturday in Verkhoyansky mountains near Batagai village, were rescued in Yakutat.
As head administration of Russian Emergency Ministry over Yakutat informed, all 8 people are alive. They are conveyed to Batatgai village.
By words of doctors, their state of health is satisfactory. People have been examined by officials of emergency medicine, and their lives are out of danger.
On Tuesday, at 6:05 by Moscow time remains of crashed helicopter were discovered on one side of the mountains. Crash landed helicopter was sufficiently damaged. People were near-by. They started the fire, showing location and saving from frost.
Helicopter with rescuers couldn`t land near place of occurrence. Cross-country vehicles, guided from air, saved the people. Hour later passengers of the crashed helicopter were on the board of Emergency Ministry helicopter.
The head of Russian Emergency Ministry over Yakutat Valery Sukhoborov congratulated all participants of search with successful end of rescue works. By his words, this event was a point of honor for Yakutat rescuers, who celebrate professional holiday today.
Crash of Mi-8 helicopter with 5 passengers and 3 crew members took place on December 24. All this time attempts to rescue people were made. But movement of rescue groups was complicated by unfavorable weather conditions and cross-country.
