The third stage of "Dakar-2006" rally has ended with victory of Russian Vladimir Chagin, racing on "KamAZ" lorry.
As organizers of competitions have informed, "KamAZ" under steering of Chagin has overcome stage Nador - Er Rachidia, which is 672 km in length, for 3 hours 25 minutes and 21 seconds.
Italian Miki Biasion, racing on Iveko, has finished with the second result of 03:32:27, being 7 minutes and 6 seconds behind the leader.
The third place was taken by team "MAN" under leadership of Stakei - result was 03:34:58 (00:09:37 behind).
"KamAZ" of Firdaus Kabirov with result 03:39:26 (00:14:05 behind) took the 4-th place. "Kamaz" of Sergey Reshetnikov demonstrated the 8-th result - 03:53:31 (00:28:10 behind).
By result of 3 stages of super marathon "Lisbon-Dakar-2006" the leadership belongs to Russian crew of Vladimir Chagin on "KamAZ" with result of 06:38:21. The second place belongs to Miki Biasion, who is only 00:13:56 behind. On the 3 place is Brazilian Andre De Azevedo on lorry Tatra - 00:30:53 behind.
The 4-th stage Er Rachidia - Ouarzazate with total length of 639 km, including 386 km of special difficulty, will take place on January 3. This Moroccan distance is one of the most diverse in "Dakar-2006" and represents classics of African marathon. There will be sands, first dunes and stone roads on the way from Er Rachidia to Ouarzazate.
Rally "Dakar-2006" consists of 15 stages. Total length of route is 9043 km with 4813 km being the high-speed part. Rally will finish in Dakar (Senegal) on January 15.
