Modern oncological center opened in Samara
On Tuesday new oncological center opened in Samara.

As head doctor of Samara oncological center Victor Tyavkin says, physicians have got the equipment, uncommon for majority of Russian leading clinics.

This event was expected for more than 10 years. The project of oncological center construction has acquired the fame of most large-scaled protracted building.

Building of the center started in 1995 and should end within 3 years. But opening was delayed every time and took place only yesterday.

Samara oncological center will practise not only preventive measures and medical treatment of cancer but will also become the base for scientific investigations. The center facilities are unique: as government of Samara oblast informed, "new complex for treatment of cancer patients will be the most modern in Russia and one of the best in the world".

Diagnostic equipment is the main advantage of the center. Computer tomograph shows three-dimensional image of examined organ in several seconds. Such high speed sufficiently reduces radiation dose the patient gets during examination.

Another important aspect is accuracy. New equipment allows to determine damaged tissues precisely, which makes course of treatment effective and probability of doctor`s mistakes comes to minimum.

Permanent establishment will be provided for 570 patients. Doctors can accept about 600 patients every day.

Samara oblast leads in amount of oncological diseases in Russia. At present moment about 60 thousands patients are registered on the books.
