The European Council has still not made a decision on strengthening sanctions against Russia, but threatened to take fresh restrictive measures, if marked on the last working day of the week measures to de-escalate in Ukraine will be made, said the head of the European Council Herman van Rompuy.
" on the last working day of the week after talks with the President of Ukraine Peter Poroshenko, the European Council has named a number of immediate and concrete steps on which will depend on our next decisions. The Council will review the situation and, if necessary, take appropriate decisions. The leaders of the European Council is committed to meet at any time to make further significant restrictive measures, " said Rompuy, speaking before the people's deputies of the European Parliament.
on the last working day of the week the head of the countries-members of EU have given 3 days on the measures to de-escalate the situation in Ukraine, saying that otherwise ready to meet any time and discuss fresh penalties against Russia. Among the necessary steps have been named: the mechanism of monitoring the cease-fire and border monitoring, the OSCE, the return of Ukrainian authorities in the three border crossing points (Izvarino, Dolzhansky, Krasnopartizansk), the release of the hostages, including all observers of the OSCE and run a thorough negotiations on the application of the peace plan of President Poroshenko.
The US and the EU, and other countries-partners are not aware of the annexation of Crimea to Russia according to the results of the March referendum and introduced sanctions against Russian bureaucrats, politicians and businessmen, as well as a number of organizations. In the capital of Russia these punishments called counterproductive.
