In the foreseeable future, Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania will create a comprehensive military brigade. The new formation will perform even the peacekeeping function.
The question of creating a common military brigade considered during the telephone conversations, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk. "The Polish Prime Minister expressed his condolences in connection with the growing number of victims of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The parties have devoted much time to the issue of the Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian military brigade Ukrpolitex", namely agreed to sign an appropriate agreement in the foreseeable future", - informs the press service Poroshenko.
Also, the Polish Prime Minister supported the deal Poroshenko on the settlement of the crisis in the South-East of Ukraine. The head of Ukraine has called for the acceleration of procedures of support from Poland, namely the transfer of the purchased armor through the Polish customs.
In addition Poroshenko thanked the Prime Minister for humanitarian aid for the armed Forces of Ukraine and proposed Warsaw to join the program of creation of working places on abandoned by the inhabitants of the land of Donbass.
The President also held a telephone conversation with President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite. Poroshenko expressed appreciation for the fact that Lithuania is one of the first countries to ratify the Agreement on Association between Ukraine and the EU, and noted methodical support of Lithuania's European aspirations of Ukraine.
Remember, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on may 27, confirmed the draft agreement on creation of a joint military brigade Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine. As reported earlier, the General military brigade will perform, among the rest, and peacekeeping functions. Ukrainian contingent brigade will be in Lviv on the ground.
