Ukrainian League of Music Rights advocates for introduction of fee for Ukrainian music use in Russian restaurants and cafes.
This was announced by director of sound-recording company "Lavina Music" Edward Klim during press-conference in Kiev.
"We are offended that we pay Russia for use of Russian music in entertaining centers and Russia refuses to do the same. And it should be mentioned that Ukrainian music became rather popular in Russia. Our relationships has never been equal, this is an antinational politics towards Ukrainian performers and it should be changed", - he said.
Ukrainian League of Music Rights collects and shares fees for use of music in commercial activities in cafes, bars, restaurants, trade complexes and transport.
In 2005 the League has collected about $100 thousands for public use of music in Ukraine, which is twice higher than takings of 2004.
