Two regional trains crashed near Kempten in Bavaria in the evening on Friday, 17 people suffered.
According to the data, at the moment of accident in both trains there were only 34 passengers and several men of the service personnel.
Trains encountered "into the forehead" on the single-track railroad in the section of Pfronten -Kempten near Peterstal station, when both were breaking, policeman noted. That?s why the speed was low, but nevertheless, according to him, one of the electric motor cars left the rails because of the blow.
They sent victims into the adjacent hospitals, and delivered remaining passengers to the railway station on the bus. The traffic through this section of the road thus far remains closed.
The police explain the reasons for collision. "Whether there was given false signal or because of snow-storm one of the machinists did not notice the forbidding signal, it is not thus far yet clear. Enormous snowdrifts on the spot of incident hamper the work of technical experts" said the representative of the police. Television channels report also that in the daytime in Bavaria near Tegernsee the train with 250 passengers left the rails because of the foul weather, but no one suffered that time.
