Chairman of "Beslan Mothers" committee Susanna Dudieva demanded abolition of death penalty moratorium, which was introduced in Russia in 1996. She made this announcement during the trial against Nurpashi Kulaev in Vladikavkaz.
"We appeal to all Russian nation with request to suspend death penalty moratorium", - said Dudieva. By her words, the committee is not afraid that this measure contradicts to European Council requirements.
The woman doesn`t consider Kulaev the only guilty in terrorist action. "Beslan Mothers" committee advocates for arraignment of representatives of Federal Security Service, Ministry of Interior Affairs and firemen.
Earlier the deputy of Russian general prosecutor Nikolai Shepel asked for strictest punishment to Kulaev, who is the only survived terrorist during Beslan terrorist action. But the attorney requested life imprisonment in the view of death penalty moratorium. According to polls, 2/3 part of Russians wish to keep death penalty.
The trial against Nurpashi Kulaev takes place in Supreme court of North Osetia. He is accused of Beslan school capture, as a result of which 331 people, including 186 children, died.
