Russian authorities decided to impose a tax on fashionable South American soda. The excise tax will drink more expensive thus less preferable for the consumers.
The State Duma will be made to the bill, according to which sugar-containing soft drinks will be introduced auxiliary tax. Taking into account opinion of the Russian deputies, a similar initiative will help improve the nation and to replenish the budget, as a similar drinks, such as Coca-Cola, is considered to be a cause of obesity.
The organizers of the increase in the tax rate on carbonated drinks is the Communist faction. The bill will be submitted for consideration to the State Duma in the autumn of this year. As the sample is supposed to take the experience of Denmark: in this country, the excise tax is levied depending on the concentration of sugar - from 0.10 to 0.28 USD per liter, informs news referring to the chief lawyer of the Communist party faction of Vadimir Solovyov.

On the decision to put U.S. carbonated soft drink auxiliary tax influenced not so long ago occurred statement of the company coca-cola to withdraw their advertising with a number of Russian TV channels in connection with the sanctions against Russia. "As the saying goes normally it would be to impose a boycott of this drink, as it is definitely unfriendly step towards Russia," said Soloviev.
Russian MPs report that on its own harmful sugar is just slightly different from cigarettes and alcohol,so sugar-containing soft drinks are also subject to withholding taxes.
