European Commission will transfer 1.285 million euros for protection of Russian draftee`s and servicemen`s rights.
The grant for 3 years will be given to London School of economics and political investigations. The project will be realized by main partner of the School in Russia - Union of soldier`s mothers committees and other human rights organizations, such as Moscow Helsinki group.
As a part of the program trainings and seminars will be held, manuals for human right activists and servicemen will be published. Violations of draft board and military authorities will be monitored and pronounced on special site.
On Monday European commission has declared about intention to finance 11 human rights projects in Russia by granting $1.5 millions. These funds will be spent for remedial activity in North Caucasus, protection of freedom of speech and struggle against violations of human rights.
