Criminal proceedings were instituted by fact of helicopter Mi-8 crash in Nenetski autonomous district. This was reported by regional prosecutor assistant Vasily Lein.
By his words, the prosecutor of Nenetski autonomous district Vladimir Ivanov made this decision during investigation on place of accident.
"1 person died and 14 got injuries as a result of crash. Therefore, criminal proceedings are instituted according to article 263, part 2 of Russian Criminal Code "violation of security regulations during air transport exploitation, which led to human death", - reported Lein.
Helicopter Mi-8 crashed at 11:35 by Moscow time while landing in Varandei settlement on seaside of Barentz Sea. All passengers were citizens of Perm. They were relatives of oil industry workers, who died in March of last year. They arrived to Varandei for consecration of chapel in commemoration of An-24 crash victims. Relatives were flying helicopter Mi-8 to the place of tragedy.
On March 16, 2005 helicopter with Perm oil industry workers on board crashed in the suburbs of Varandei. 28 people died then.
