The Central election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine at the private meeting was not allowed a referendum on the accession to power in NATO. As the party "Batkivshchyna" announced the intention to start collecting signatures to challenge this decision.
"The Central election Commission on the private meeting forbade the holding of the referendum conditionally Ukraine's accession to NATO. It is unreasonable and criminal, all this happens as during the reign of Yanukovych: the people of Ukraine are practically forbidden to Express a desire for a referendum conditionally Ukraine's membership in NATO", - informs the public relations division of the "Fatherland". The party begins collecting signatures for a referendum on Ukraine's accession to NATO, added the press service.
September 5, on the initiative of the party "Batkivshchyna" and its leader Yulia Tymoshenko in Kiev there was a meeting of people, speaking for holding an all-Ukrainian referendum on the introduction of Ukraine into NATO. The meeting confirmed the wording of the question proposed to be put to a referendum. The question should be: "do you Support Ukraine's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) as the system of collective security?". Among other things was created by the initiative group, which is entrusted to organize the collection of signatures in support of the referendum, according to RIA Novosti.
Recall that previously the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk acknowledged that NATO is not ready in the short term to accept Ukraine. But the politician stressed that the Preface in the block "not yet classified" the purpose of Kiev.
"NATO is not our goal, but when Russia entered the Ukraine must specifically and clearly to find that under these circumstances, NATO is the only way to protect Ukraine. I know that not many NATO members are happy with the position. I understand that in the short term, NATO is not ready to accept Ukraine", - said the Prime Minister during a meeting of Yalta European strategy.
