Zam. Minister of foreign Affairs Gennady Gatilov agreed with the high Commissioner of the United Nations on matters of immigrants Antonio Guterres to alleviate the humanitarian consequences of the fall in Ukraine, according to the report of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The meeting was held on the last working day of the week in Geneva.
" Special attention was paid to the problems of increasing cooperation in overcoming the serious humanitarian consequences of the armed conflict in Ukraine, as well as among them in terms of assisting the Ukrainian internally displaced persons and refugees residing in the area of the Russian Federation ", - said in the report.
Employees of the foreign Ministry discussed the cooperation between Russia and the office of the high Commissioner and exchanged opinions on the issues of the agenda in the humanitarian sphere. In addition, they discussed plans to develop a comprehensive approach to international humanitarian organizations to provide assistance to Syria and to alleviate the situation of Syrian immigrants and internally displaced persons.
The flow of immigrants from the South-East of Ukraine has increased greatly since June amid fighting between supporters of independence Donetsk and Kyiv national security.
