State Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin commented on the claim of the European Union to Serbia to join the sanctions against Russia. The analogous position of the European States is sincere blackmail and violation of international law.
Powers of the EU, bypassing all norms of international law are requested from Serbia to join the anti-Russian punishment, otherwise they promise to delay the accession process power in the structures of the EU. These requirements state Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin has been called "rude and boorish statement." "Just a few days ago we heard the rough, I would have said insulting, the application of a high-ranking civil servants of the European Union in relation to the independent sovereign state of Serbia. It was said either you belong to the so-called anti-punishment, or you have no place in the European Union" - quoted by TASS Sergey Naryshkin.
He stressed that a similar position is blatant blackmail and contrary to all norms of international law. "Undoubtedly, these steps have nothing aggregate nor with the principles of sovereign equality, nor with the principles of respect for history, culture and traditions of the partner country", - said the speaker, speaking at the conference "the President, the Parliament, integration".
Previously, the European Commissioner for neighbourhood policy and the negotiations on the extension Johannes Hahn said that, because Serbia is a candidate for accession to the EU, it must bring its own foreign policy position to pan. For this purpose, in particular, from the government powers demanded to join the anti-Russian punishment.
Despite the rather obvious and severe pressure, Prime Minister of Serbia Alexander survived stressed that his country does not intend to introduce virtually no restrictive measures against Russia. "Our strategic goal is the path to the EU, but we will not impose penalties in respect of the Russian Federation", - he said.
