According to the head of the Russian delegation to PACE Alexei Pushkov, Russia leaves the Assembly before the end of the year. In protest, the Russian delegation did not want to participate in the meeting and discussion.
Relations between Russia and the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe have cooled in April 2014 after the adoption of the PACE of the decision to deprive the Russian delegation's voting rights, rights to participate in the meeting of statutory bodies and participation in monitoring activities of Assembly due to the position of the capital of Russia in the Crimea.
