"Ski-Track of Russia" event was held in Krasnoyarsk Sunday. More than 10,000 Krasnoyarsk residents participated in the ski race at the Dinamo Stadium.
Krasnoyarsk authorities went on the ski track with the citizens: Krasnoyarsk mayor Petr Pimashkov, Krasnoyarsk Territory Deputy-Governor Vladimir Shishmaryov, the regional sport agency head Pavel Rostovtsev, Krassport head Sergei Kochan, heads of town districts and famous sportsmen.
"Krasnoyarsk is one of Russia`s most sport towns. We already lead among 84 towns participating in the action. There are already some examples when the whole world follows Krasnoyarsk as an example," Petr Pimashkov stressed.
There were 3 races as part of the event: 2 and 5 km start, children start and "Try yourself" contest race.
The children start was held to support the city of Sochi as a candidate to host the Olympic Games in 2014. Seven-year-olds took part in the event, along with the mayor.
The children race was rather a show than a sport event, as young skiers passed a track of less than 1 km, with sweets at the finish.
The main event was 25 km race "Try yourself". Four of its winners will go to the final, at "Krasnaya Polyana", Sochi. Krasnoyarsk sport agency head Sergei Kochan was the one to compete for the place in Sochi final.
"Ski-Track of Russia" event is a stage of "Everyone Starts", whose participants earned extra score to win the prize. Moreover, the sport holiday was the first stage of Krasnoyarsk Multisport Cup "X-Man".
All-Russian action "Ski Track of Russia" has been already held for the 25th time. Krasnoyarsk participated in the event along with 84 other towns. - Siberian News
