A suicide car bomber attacked a NATO convoy in the capital Saturday, killing four civilians, Afghan officials said.
The attack in western Kabul also wounded three civilians and a foreigner, said Gen. Ali Shah Paktiawal. A NATO vehicle and seven civilian vehicles were damaged in the attack, he said.
NATO`s International Security Assistance Force said it was looking into the report but had no immediate information.
The attack came a day after a suicide car bomber targeting a NATO convoy in southern Afghanistan killed 10 people, including five children and a Dutch soldier.
"This cowardly attack shows what kind of enemy we are faced with," Dutch Defense Minister Eimert van Middelkoop said. "An enemy who just wants to kill, whether it be soldiers or children."
Purported Taliban spokesmen have warned civilians to stay away from military convoys, but suicide bombings commonly kill or wound far more civilians than the intended military targets.
Violence has spiked in Afghanistan in recent weeks. More than 2,300 people have died in insurgency-related violence this year, according to an Associated Press count based on figures from U.S., NATO, U.N. and Afghan officials.
