Russian reporter Fatima Tlisova denies reports in the media that she was granted political asylum in the United States.
"There is only one thing true in what has been reported about me: I did take place in a round-table discussion at the US Congress. I am staying in America to study; after it I intend to continue working in Caucasus," Tlisova told a REGNUM correspondent. Since 2005, Fatima Tlisova worked as chief-editor of REGNUM North Caucasus desk. In March 2007, she went to the United States for a two-year study at an American university. When she departed, there was an information campaign in the media that she was granted asylum in the USA, but Fatima Tlisova announced it did not reflect the reality.
