Russia suffered their sixth consecutive defeat in the Superseries against Canada. Russian hockey supporters often recollect the best days of Russian hockey and the USSR-Canada Superseries of the year 1972 in particular. No doubt fans were looking forward to seeing another fight between the countries` hockey sides, even though only junior teams are involved in the fight. Yet the competition delivered Russia a great disappointment: their side lost all chances to fight for a positive outcome long before the series closing matches. Russia lost 1:4 in the sixth match of the series and there is now very little time left for them to snatch at least one victory and avoid an all-out rout.
