Police in Daghestan have discovered an underground explosives workshop in a residential home in the Khasavyurt district, in northern Daghestan, a source in the republic`s Interior Ministry said. Investigators and sappers discovered six improvised explosive devices, made from 50-kilogram (100-pound) metal barrels packed with explosives and shrapnel, 120 kilograms (240 pounds) of ammonium nitrate, 38 detonators, an RPG-26 rocket launcher and ammunition. The barrels were removed and destroyed. The source said the devices were made to commit terrorist attacks against the republic`s law enforcement bodies, as police also found hand-drawn plans of Khasavyurt`s police department and the republic`s department on organized crime.
