The number of tourists who visited Moscow in 2007 increased by 15 percent in comparison to a year earlier, Grigory Antyufeyev, head of Moscow`s tourism department, told journalists today. He pointed out that some 1.637m foreign tourists flew into Moscow airports in the first half of 2007 compared to 1.427m in January-June 2006. Antyufeyev also noted that there was no deficit in hotel rooms, adding that Moscow could host any number of tourists in various types of hotels. In addition, he said that another 250 hotels could be opened in Moscow by 2010, bringing down the price for hotel room ($60 per night or less).
