Kiev breaks military-technical cooperation with Moscow that existed the last 22 years. According to him, Russia is currently a threat to the security and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced the official and final rupture of cooperation with Russia in the defense sector. "We stop the agreement, signed in 1993, on military-technical cooperation with Russia", - he declared at a government meeting. According to Yatsenyuk, Russia at the moment - the aggressor country, which is a danger for the Ukrainian state and its territorial integrity, reports TASS.
The agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on military-technical cooperation was signed 22 years ago. Then Moscow and Kiev have agreed to preserve and develop cooperative relationships in the development and production of military products, to implement its mutual deliveries, provide services for military purposes. Besides all this, the agreement on the PTS provided that military products and information about it cannot be transferred to residents of other countries without the consent of their primary owner.
After the Crimean events in the past year Ukraine has temporarily halted shipments to the Russian Federation of military goods. In mid-June of that year, the President of the power Petro Poroshenko banned cooperation with Russia in the sphere of military-industrial complex. The exception was made only for space technology, delivered in the framework of international agreements for peaceful exploration of space.
After the collapse of the USSR, Ukraine has remained a large number of companies of the military-industrial complex, closely integrated with the Russian defence industry. For example, Ukraine got almost thirty percent of the companies and design bureaus missile and aviation industries of the Soviet Union.
