An hour and a half into today`s special dollar trading session for tomorrow deals, the weighted average exchange rate stood at 24.67 RUR/USD, which means that the official dollar rate for November 3-6 could be revised RUR0.01 lower. Given that the dollar, in contrast, rose RUR0.01 on Thursday, the ruble has recouped that loss against the US currency today. The dollar`s fall on MICEX has been fueled by the euro`s appreciation on international exchanges, where it is now trading at nearly USD1.4470, up some 0.2 percent from around USD1.4440 at midday yesterday. Meanwhile, the ruble advanced at today`s UTS amid low trading activity, with the trading volume at barely above USD376m as of 11:30 a.m. The weighted average euro exchange rate closed at 35.69 RUR/EUR at this morning`s special trading session for today deals, which is RUR0.01 higher than the official rate set by the Bank of Russia for November 2. Meanwhile, even the low on euro deals stood at 35.66 RUR/EUR. The current developments on MICEX may be attributed to the euro`s advance against the dollar on international exchanges. The euro is now trading at USD1.4473, up from USD1.4437 at the same time on Thursday. Consequently, the US currency has edged down 0.25 percent against the euro on the global market since then.
