Russia will demand that the UN Security Council annul any unilateral declaration of independence by the Serbian province of Kosovo, Interfax quoted Russia`s chief Kosovo negotiator as saying Tuesday.
"Russia will of course demand the annulment of such a decision. We will demand a meeting of the Security Council because it would be a violation of a Council resolution," Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko was quoted as saying.
Botsan-Kharchenko represents Russia in the "troika" along with the European Union and the United States attempting to negotiate between Kosovo and Serbia.
