Authorities in the Ukrainian city of Kotovsk said the contest for the new Name of the city, the proper order was signed on the last working day of the week the head of the city administration Anatoly Ivanov.
"The name of the city is expected to change in Accordance with the adopted legislative act banning Communist symbols. Proposals will be accepted up to fifteen September, – reports the words of the head of the news Agency.
Ivanov tried to convince the residents and employees of factories to participate in the competition, saying that the winner will be rewarded – 5 thousand Hryvnia (about $ 200). The city of Kotovsk named in honor of Soviet military leader, the Civil war Grigory Kotovsky (1881-1925). In the city is the Museum and the mausoleum containing the body of the legendary corps commander that the locals hid during the Nazi occupation, in order to preserve for posterity.
