Delegations of Seoul City Regional Office in Russia
According to the Cooperation Agreement signed between Mos-cow Trade Union Federation (MTUF) and Seoul City Regional Office of Federation of Korean Trade Union (FKTUS), the FKTUS delegation headed by the Vice-Chairman Yoon Jinsoo was in Russia from 19 till 24, June 2009.

According to the Cooperation Agreement signed between Mos-cow Trade Union Federation (MTUF) and Seoul City Regional Office of Federation of Korean Trade Union (FKTUS), the FKTUS delegation headed by the Vice-Chairman Yoon Jinsoo was in Russia from 19 till 24, June 2009.
During the visit meetings and negotiations of the delegation members with the MTUF executive board were held, as well as with some organizations, members of MTUF, on the agenda were issues about trade union activity in Moscow and Seoul in the conditions of global crisis.
During the negotiations in MTUF its Chairman M.D.Nagaitsev and the FKTUS Vice-Chairman Yoon Jinsoo summarized the results of bilateral relations in 2006-2009 according to the Cooperation Agree-ment between Moscow Trade Union Federation and Seoul City Regional Office of Federation of Korean Trade Union.
Both parties expressed high opinion about the state and devel-opment of friendly bilateral relations between Moscow and Seoul trade unions, and marked complete fulfillment of the Agreement points, va-lidity period of which expires in the end of 2009.
Yoon Jinsoo expressed gratitude on behalf of Park Dae Soo to MTUF executive board for cooperation and his offer to continue ex-change of Moscow and Seoul trade union experience by signing a new cooperation agreement after the validity period of the present agree-ment ends.
The economic situation in Moscow and Seoul during the global crunch was on the agenda of the negotiations. The parties discussed the main issue for trade unions - influence of the global crunch on city social situation and measures of trade unions to tackle with grow-ing unemployment and protect employees’ and their families’economic interests.
Particularly Yoon Jinsoo noted that iron, steel and shipbuilding industries turned out in the most difficult economic situation, as well as building industry. Seoul trade unions see main threat for workers in expanding temporary employment and put all their efforts to cope with this. Another FKTUS important task is raising of minimal salary 1,5 times in order to make it equal to the minimum living wage.
During the visit FKTUS delegation members held meetings with heads of some other regional offices entering into MTUF. Among them are: Regional Public Organization ‘Moscow City Trade Union of Automobile Transport and Road Facilities’, Open Organization ‘Trade Union of Moscow Engineering Workers’, Moscow City Cooperation ‘Trade Union of Workers of Popular Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
According to the visit schedule the delegation visited suburban children’s holiday camp Ozyerny where the officials got acquainted with organization of children’s summer vacation (one of the MTUF ac-tivities).
Despite the intense business part of the visit schedule, delegation members had an opportunity to get acquainted with historical and cultural monuments of Moscow and St.-Petersburg.
Considerable attention at negotiations in MTUF was paid to the problem of alliance between Northern and South Korea as assistance to it is one of the operat-ing Agreement points about cooperation between MTUF and FKTUS. The par-ties exchanged their opinions about this issue and marked additional difficulties connected with nuclear weapons testing of Democratic People`s Republic of Korea, ballistic rockets launch and end of six-sided negotiations about denuclearization of Korean Peninsula. Nevertheless MTUF and FKTUS executive boards con-sider it’s necessary to continue assisting to peaceful alliance of Ko-rean Peninsula’s people and make this issue one of the new coopera-tion agreement’s points
