The head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko together with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on the first day of the week participated in the official opening ceremony of the international exercise "Ukraine-2015" on the destruction of the consequences of emergencies in Lviv oblast.
Exercises planned under the national programme of cooperation Ukraine-NATO "Partnership for peace" for 2015 for deepening cooperation between the state service of Ukraine for emergency situations and the Alliance in the sphere of civil protection of the residents and will be held from 21 to 25 September.
Speaking at the opening of the exercises, Poroshenko said that the teachings attracted 1,100 rescuers from 34 countries of Europe, America and Asia. According to his statement, the subject of the teachings includes a wide range of measures, including exploration of the zone of emergency, the holding of different types of complex rescue operations, the full amount of medical care - from transportation to a safe place to provide specialized assistance. Also will test the provision of medical care using telemedicine, liquidation of accidents on chemically hazardous objects and fire fighting difficult. A substantial part of the rescue operations will be conducted at night, added the head.
Stoltenberg expressed his gratitude to Ukraine for exercises on its territory, adding that the experience gained during training will give you the opportunity to save lives in the future.
