Picture with 42 cats sold for $826 thousand
At Sotheby's auction in new York for 826 thousand of dollars have gone under the hammer painting by Austrian artist Karl Kahler "my wife's Lovers", which depicts the 42 cats. The work in 1891, ordered a very wealthy lover of furry Pets of the pupils from San Francisco, CA Kate Beardsall Johnson.

At the auctions of auction SothebyБ√⌠s picture was realized, which is the greatest canvas depicting cats. Produced by the Austrian painter Karl Kolerom to order millionaire Kate Beardsall Johnson work weighing more than 100 kg and a size 190 to 260 cm had to deliberately place on prepared wall.

The picture is called "Lovers my wife" (My Wife's Lovers) and has the image 42 of 350 fluffy favorites of the fairer sex, which is known as one of the largest cat enthusiasts in the history of the United States. Ironic title the artist gave the woman's husband.

On a personal passion she did not stint: depicted in the center of the picture kot Sultan at a cost of 3 thousand thousand dollars, reports Time. However the unknown buyer, who bought the painting at auction SothebyБ√⌠s, gave much more.

At an estimated price of 300 thousand dollars of the final purchase price amounted to 826 thousand dollars. The image of each of the 42 cats turned into almost 20 thousand dollars.

While the painting was in the exhibition of the auction house, the lovers of cats and art lovers were delighted. Tells about the 2 ladies that sat in front of the painting on folding chairs and determined the traits of each animal depicted.
