In California, the judge left the rape unpunished
In California, a former swimmer at Stanford University has received a 6-month sentence for raping a girl. This phenomenon has caused severe irritation in the Internet, people think that this is too soft a term for this crime. Prosecutors asked 6 years imprisonment for assaulting a girl.

Brock Turner, who was convicted of rape in the state of alcoholic intoxication, was sentenced to 6 months probation. The judge of the County of Santa Clara Aaron Persky said that when Turner's age and lack of criminal history, he was forced to give him a little time.

"A prison sentence would have serious impact on him," said Persky. "I think he will not pose a danger to others."

But early Tuesday morning, more than 191 thousand people have signed the petition, which States that "the Judge Persky failed to see the crimes. Brock Turner, a white male star athlete at a prestigious University, but this does not mean that he is entitled to leniency," reads the petition. "Sexual violence is a violation of law regardless of social class, race, gender or other factors. Please help to correct this travesty of justice."

"It was a terrible incident, and we understand the anger and deep anxiety that he caused. Still a lot of work to be done, not only here but all over the world to create a culture that do not tolerate sexual violence in any form".

The victim in turn told about the horrors she had to endure, "They smeared me with blue paint to check for wear. After a few hours of abuse they allowed me to take a shower. I wanted to take my body like a jacket and leave it in the hospital with all the rest ".
