Advertisers have agreed to pull a controversial Brazilian beer commercial featuring Paris Hilton, following complaints about its sexist undertones. The socialite sparked controversy in February, when she appeared on TV and internet ads rubbing a can of Devassa beer on herself in an office building as passers by stare at her antics. Despite being fully clothed throughout the ad, officials at Brazil`s Women`s Secretariat revealed authorities received several complaints about the "sensual nature" of the campaign. Meanwhile watchdog group, Conar, requested the ad be removed. On Tuesday, March 2, a spokesperson for Devassa brewer Schincariol announced the commercial would be pulled temporarily, but defended the campaign. A statement from Schincariol reads, "The company believes that the advertisement starring the model Paris Hilton doesn`t offend in any sense, any rule or orientation."
