In Delaware a 16 year old girl died, after secondary school entered into a scuffle with the other girls. "It was an argument that initially began between the two girls, and I understand that the other girls were against one person," said Gary Fullman, chief of staff of the mayor of Wilmington. A student was seriously injured and was transported by helicopter to and.and. DuPont hospital for children, where she died, said Fullman. The fight happened around 8:15 a.m. as classes began in a bathroom on the ground floor of the school, said the headmaster, Stanley Spoor at a press conference. He did not say what caused the fight. Two students were interviewed by the police in Wilmington, he said. Any charges not yet filed, authorities said. The chief of police of Wilmington, Bobby Cunningham said he did not believe that weapon was used. The victim's name was not divulged, what is known is that she studied for 2 year. An autopsy will determine the cause of death. Students at the school were sent home, said school officials. The news was sent to the family members who rushed to pick up their children. Some of them said they didn't know exactly what happened. "They said there was a struggle," said Denise Dinkins. "I don't know. I'm just trying to find my grandson." City officials expressed regret at the violence. "My heart is broken," said the mayor of Wilmington Dennis Williams at a press conference. "I'm so upset that a young girl lost her life today. Things like these should not happen." "This is not only an unspeakable tragedy for the whole family, but for school," reads the statement on the website of the school district. "We extend our prayers and deepest sympathy to the family who lost the baby."
