The European Union does not translate to Ukraine the second tranche of aid in the amount of 600 million euros, if the country does not withdraw the moratorium on the export of roundwood, introduced in 2015 for a period of 10 years, and organizes the payment of internally displaced persons, said the head of the EU delegation to Ukraine Hugh Mingarelli. "As you may recall, the EU approved the programme of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 1, 8 billion euros. 1st tranche of ? 600 million we have already allocated and currently the story is about the 2nd tranche equal to 600 million euros. There are two key rules for the allocation of funds: the lifting of the moratorium on the export of timber, and the handling of the question of payments for internally displaced persons, " said Mingarelli, as quoted by UNIAN. Ukraine in April 2015 introduced a moratorium on the export of round timber under the pretext of fighting illegal logging. The European Union is experiencing an acute shortage of the timber, As in the countries of the European community, where it increases in abundance (it is the most important thing about Finland) imposed strict limits on logging. As acknowledged in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the moratorium on the export of the forest is perceived in the EU As a violation of the Treaty on unity.
