The office of President-elect Donald trump begins to form. Trump offered to pray for unity after a long strife this season.
"Lay down emotions and tensions will not go away over night," the President said during a video address, published on the eve of the national holiday. He continued: "My prayer is that during Thanksgiving, we begin to heal our differences and move forward as one country, reinforced by a common purpose and common resolve."
Trump, who was reunited with his family Thursday at his residence in palm beach, as expected, paused for the day after two weeks of battle, to form his nascent administration from scratch. But on Thursday morning, trump sent another message on Twitter, declaring that it works even on the Thanksgiving holiday.
He brought the first signs of diversity in his Cabinet. The Governor of South Carolina became Nikki Haley, attorney Betsy DeVos will head the Department of education. They are the first women selected for positions of top-level management. Haley is the daughter of Indian immigrants, so it also became his first choice of a minority. The Governor of South Carolina has little experience in foreign policy, but trump praised her as a "proven businessman.
Trump also chose billionaire Wilbur Ross Jr. to head the Commerce Department, said Wednesday a senior adviser to trump. 78-year-old Ross is the Chairman of the Board of Directors and chief strategy officer of private equity firm W. L. Ross
