When we talk about happiness, we think about how to be happy all the time - every day, every minute without interruption. We are trying to achieve a permanent state of "happiness" and to avoid anything that might Rob us of it.
But what's the point of this type of "happiness"? It's like your favorite food - the more you have, the better. On the contrary, when you only have the opportunity to eat a small portion, then you are really savoring every bite. Is the food itself makes you happy or is valuable to you only when you eat it?

It's natural to want to be happy as often as possible. What can we do for this? First, throw away the belief that a perfect life means happiness. Personally, I'd be unhappy if everything were perfect. This is due to issues in life that cause us to care for others when they experience the same trials. If life were perfect, you would not be able to empathize. If life were perfect, you wouldn't have grown.
To be truly happy, stop looking for "eternal happiness". It sounds like a paradox. I mean, you will agree that in your life there will be UPS and downs. One can imagine that happiness is the transition of positive and negative event in your life.
Feel the importance of gratitude. Instead of focusing on bad time right now, recall a time when you had or did not have something. For example, I like to think about my career. When I didn't have a career, I felt lost. I felt that all I think about my life except me. But when I found my purpose and began to act, I became deeply happy, even before I realized that I will be successful! This memory supports my movement when I have difficult periods of life. It allows make the period of darkness, so we were grateful for the light.
Happiness and sadness exist together.
It all boils down to what your life will be filled with wonderful, happy and incredible moments. Happy tears, cheers and funny stories. But your life will also be filled with rain and storms that never pass when you pass through them.
When your face is warmed by the sun, or your heart, moistened by the rain, know that this is all part of the flow of life. The value of happy moments is known through the sadness. Do not try to avoid "sad" or "negative" experiences, and blindly chasing "happy". Eventually you reach a true level of satisfaction with their life based on important experiences and achievements. The ability to create growth and a sense of positive and negative events is the true meaning of "happiness".
