The document, if adopted, will give the US President power to approve tariffs on imports unilaterally, without the consent of Congress. In addition, the project will allow the United States to ignore the basic principles of the WTO.
A source in the Congress said that the adoption of such a Document is tantamount to a US withdrawal from the WTO. Later, the head of the Ministry of Finance of the USA Stephen Mnuchin denied information about the plans of the US withdrawal from the global trade organization.
