The singer was spotted canoodling with the baseball player in January, but only admitted they were a couple in April. Shortly after declaring her love for Matt, Rihanna jetted off to begin the European leg of her Last Girl On Earth tour and the pair have been apart ever since.
Rihanna is finding the separation extremely difficult, so has started arranging video dates, where she and Matt sit down in front of their computers and enjoy dinner or drinks with each other.
"She really misses Matt so they`ve been speaking a lot," an insider explained. "They text all the time, they talk or they call, and they even have video dates where they will set up a time to see each other on the computer and have dinner or a few drinks. It`s very cute the way she talks about it."
Rihanna and Matt have both publicly discussed how much they have missed each other in recent weeks. Rihanna is enjoying performing in different countries, but still wishes Matt could be with her in between shows. He can`t fly to Europe due to his gruelling training schedule, so the star is thought to be considering flying home to the US for a weekend so they can spend some time together.
"She misses Matt big time," the source told British magazine More! "She grew close to him before they had to part ways and now it`s rough to be without him for so long.
"She`s got lots of people around her, so she`s not lonely, but that doesn`t make up for not seeing him."
