The 22-year-old pop star has been dating baseball player Matt Kemp since January. The couple denied they were an item for months, but recently opened up about their feelings for each other, with Rihanna declaring they were "in love" last month. She has now spoken about how Matt keeps her "sane" when her life is spinning out of control, and has made her happier than she has even been before. "I have a boyfriend. I`m so happy. I feel really comfortable, and it`s so easy," the singer told the July issue of Elle magazine. "I have such a chaotic life, but at the end of the day, that is just my peace. It keeps me sane, really, talking to him and talking to my family." Rihanna also discussed her relationship with hip-hop singer Chris Brown, who was convicted of assaulting her last year. She said her life had changed for the better in the time since she and Chris split, but admits leaving him was one of the hardest things she has ever had to do. "A year ago, I was very confused," she told the publication. "Because he was my best friend. All of a sudden, one night changed our whole lives - not only our friendship, but our lives. I wanted to wake up one day and just not have that pain anymore. "I wanted to be with him again or get over him - it was either-or. I just didn`t want to feel the pain, the confusion."
