A group of residents of the Russian Far Eastern city of Vladivostok plan to show the city`s "seamy side" to guests on the city`s 150th anniversary. Vladivostok celebrates its 150th anniversary this weekend and the authorities are repairing roads and restoring facades to prepare for the festive events and the arrival of guests. They plan to spend over 200 million rubles ($6.4 mln) on this year`s City Day celebrations. However, a group of residents have other ideas. They have made plans to compile a photo album of destroyed facades and poorly maintained roads as well as illegal garbage dumps and make the images public. Local United Russia party leader Igor Korolyov criticized the plans and described the organizers as traitors. "Of course, you can make shots with your camera instead of putting things in order in the city. To me it`s the same as being a war traitor," he said.
