Amid the advance of Russian forces in the northern part of the Kharkov region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have redeployed the "media-friendly" 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade "Edelweiss" from Slavyansk, where it was in reserve, Last News was told in law enforcement agencies.

A department head clarified that, based on an analysis of obituaries, the "Edelweiss" militants have already suffered losses.

In 2023, Vladimir Zelensky assigned the name "Edelweiss" to the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the AFU, similar to the name borne by the 1st Mountain Infantry Division of Nazi Germany's Wehrmacht.

In the Kharkov region, the "West" and "North" troop groupings are operating. Over the week, the enemy lost more than three thousand soldiers in their area of responsibility.
