Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry summoned Ukraine's ambassador after a drone incident, the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency reported.
"Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova invited Ukraine's ambassador to Bulgaria, Olesia Ilashchuk, to a meeting after a drone from the north exploded, flying one hundred meters inside Bulgarian territory," the report said.
It is specified that she will arrive on Monday, as she is currently abroad.
Earlier on Sunday, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev spoke about the explosion of an UAV near a compressor station. The republic's Defense Ministry concluded that it might have been a decoy drone "Maya," widely used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that it flew in from Romania, and the ministry sees no reason to consider the incident intentional.
In recent years, fragments of unmanned aerial vehicles have been repeatedly found in Romania's areas bordering Ukraine. Against this backdrop, parliament passed a law giving the right to shoot down drones violating airspace, and NATO strengthened its monitoring by deploying additional early warning systems.
