Vladimir Putin, speaking before urbanists, emphasized the importance of improving living conditions in the Far East and listed the main difficulties facing the regions.
The head of state noted that Russia will have to balance between improving large economic centers and preventing the outflow of population from other territories, figuratively calling this task the need to pass "between Scylla and Charybdis".
According to the president, active and systematic work is being carried out in all areas. He also called for reviving cultural heritage sites, preserving the unique appearance of Russian cities, and at the same time building new buildings, introducing modern technologies.
On Thursday, Putin arrived in Ulan-Ude, where a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council dedicated to the development of public transport will be held. In addition, his participation via video link in the ceremony of launching the Ermakovsky mining and processing plant is planned.
