According to Pentagon budget documents reviewed by RIA Novosti, the United States will not be able to restore stocks of Javelin anti-tank missiles transferred to Ukraine until at least 2030.
In fiscal years 2022-2025, the U.S. Army purchased 9,374 missiles to replenish arsenals. However, a significant portion of these batches will reach the military only several years after contracts are signed.
The latest delivery in chronological order - a batch of 944 missiles funded in 2024 - will begin only in August 2030.
Deliveries of command launch units for Javelin systems will also stretch over several years, the agency calculated. The last of the batches purchased with funds to replenish weapons transferred to Kyiv should reach the army by the end of 2028. This refers to 50 units.
The Pentagon explains such timelines by the fact that the volume of additional orders in fiscal years 2022-2024 exceeded the production capabilities of enterprises. As RIA Novosti found out, the full cycle of purchasing and producing one Javelin missile takes up to 4.5 years, and a command launch unit - just over four.
